A brief outline of events follow:
Friday Evening Concert-7:00pm
The music of Dave Wilken, trombone
and
Rich Willey, trumpet
Biltmore Doubletree
performed by 10-piece ensemble.
Saturday Morning - 10:00am
Initial gathering of students where they will be given first instruction and the "seed" of a composition. They then can break off into small groups for sectionals and more instrument oriented instruction.
Saturday Aftenoon -
Rehearsing of Large Ensemble. Involves the application of ideas covered in the morning classes.
Saturday Evening -
Jam session open to students and the community.
Sunday Morning -
Individual prep time for afternoon rehearsal (chart writing, working out difficult passages, etc). Clinicians are on site to advise and instruct.
Sunday Afternoon -
Rehearsal of compositions by students ensemble. Observed, critiqued and advised by Guest Composers/Clinicians Frank Kimbrough and Bill Gerhardt.
Lecture by Frank Kimbrough
followed by Open Rehearsal
Sam Macy's and Frank Kimbrough's groups.
Sunday Evening -
